Gum Disease is caused by calcified plaque and bacteria in the gums which results in infection of the tissue. Maintaining good brushing and flossing routines at home and regular dental cleanings are the best way to prevent gum disease.
Early diagnosis is very important in improving prevention of oral cancer. When you have dental cleanings you will be screened for oral cancer, so it is important to keep up with routine professional cleanings.
Exposed or weakened areas of the teeth can cause sensitivity when exposed to hot and cold temperatures and touch. It is important to let your dentist know about these sensitivities so we can help you with in-office treatments or provide product suggestions for home use. Avoid excessive consumption of acidic foods and beverages, harsh brushing, and abrasive toothpaste when experiencing hypersensitivity.
